Support, encouragement, and inspiration for the spiritual journey.

Who I Am

A Short Biography

I am an ordained interfaith ministry. I graduated with a Masters of Art in Religion from Yale Divinity School. I received further training at The New Seminary and was also ordained after that two year program in a ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. I graduated from Smith College with an English degree a few years before my ordination. I am also a graduate of Concord Academy. After my Yale graduation, I spent a summer at Kripalu Center and was trained as a Kripalu yoga teach.

I have been in active ministry since my ordination in 2001. I officiate at weddings, baby blessings, memorials and other ceremonies. I preach, teach and speak when asked at churches and for other organizations. I have been teaching yoga for about thirteen years and have instructed thousands of students.

I am the mother of three small children and the wife of a professor of Chemical Engineering. Currently, my first work is mothering, which gives me ample opportunities to deepen my spiritual practice! Nothing teaches the higher virtues quite so adamantly as young children!

I teach out of a Christian background having grown up Congregationalist and Episcopalian. My family and I regularly attend a Methodist Church. I find great strength and wisdom in the Christian scriptures though never to the exclusion of the many other great religious traditions. I do believe that the heart of every tradition is Love and that all religions are human constructs hoping to capture the nearly inexpressible experience of God.

The other great wisdom tradition that has shaped me comes from the yogic teachings, primarily Swami Kripalu, though there are others. I have studied with very great teachers, whose instruction has opened my heart to an inner source of knowledge and joy. My practice of joy regularly changes and shapes my life.

It is a blessing for me to share with you some of my journey. I hope you will continue to listen to the radio broadcasts and find support as you go on your way.
